Wednesday 1st April 2015

As it was the end of term we had a tea party in the Lounge cafe upstairs. Zina and Maria made us a lovely tea: sandwiches, humous and tortilla chips, fruit skewers and wheat free chocolate cake. All delicious and we polished it off quickly and had a good chat before going down to the workshop.

018 the remains of the feast….

Not a lot of work was done after that though, some of us felt too stuffed! however Tika brought in a whole load of things to show us that she had made at home while she was ill! These are all in the folder “Tika’s Work”.

Elizabeth was warping up the little two shaft with some nice natural coloured yarns but we failed to get a photo….

Tika managed to make a warp to take home for the easter holiday. So productive….and Maria and Marie-T were able to help her with this and learn a bit more about making a warp

031 Tika’s latest warp, which I am sure will be transformed into something by next term
026 these are the huge spools of Harris tweed yarn she used
030 Tika also brought in this rather nice scarf that she may try to copy – using better colours
025 and this bag that she bought which is strange colours but an interesting construction. It is made of two long strips
012 Jenny brought in a Turkish style spindle that she had made out of five chopsticks and four rubber bands. She is spinning Leo’s fleece which is a really easy one to spin, its quite addictive, she finds it hard to stop. These type of spindles could be good for teaching as they are quite slow. Jenny and Elizabeth may use these at the spinning sessions they are planning at Buddhafield in May
